On 31 May 1911, some 100,000 people lined Queen’s Road to watch Titanic’s launch, timed to the second at 12:13:30 according to Harland & Wolff records. That same road now threads through Titanic Quarter: Slipway 2 where the hull stood, the cavernous dry dock, and the Pumphouse that drained the largest dock of its day. Just along the quay, SS Nomadic—built in 1911, last surviving White Star Line vessel—brings the Cherbourg boarding story to life. Rivet lines, the Samson & Goliath cranes on the skyline: the industrial past reads like a ledger in steel.
Your driver meets you at the hotel around 9 am and stays close with a Mercedes at the ready while you explore. With a private chauffeur in Belfast, the day flows: eight minutes from City Hall to the yards (about 3 km), museum first, then the dry dock without hunting for parking, and HMS Caroline if you fancy, just 1.2 km away. You sample soda bread at Dock Cafe or tea at Titanic Hotel; meanwhile the driver handles timed tickets, drop-offs at the door, and rain-proof detours.
