Back in 1926, as the La Colle road was widened, Saint-Paul-de-Vence shifted from hilltop stronghold to a stop on collectors’ itineraries—Paul Signac still painted nearby, and decades later Chagall chose the village as his final resting place. Just beyond the northern wall, the Fondation Maeght (1964) folds Miró, Giacometti and Braque into a sculpture garden that feels like a maze under olives and pines. No props, no stagecraft—just a century of modern art anchored to stone and light.
Collected from your Cap d’Antibes hotel, you ride in a Mercedes with your dedicated driver setting the pace while you focus on galleries and lunch. First, a stroll through the lanes to the Porte de Vence, then the Maeght galleries and Miró courtyard, followed by a table at La Colombe d’Or where a Fernand Léger still hangs above the bar. If time and mood align, we add Vence—eight kilometers away—and a scenic loop toward the Gorges du Loup before an unhurried return.
