12:45. Edges bite into snow as the Mercedes V-Class eases up to the Chenus gondola. Two minutes to clip in, then a glide to Le Montgomerie (2 Michelin stars) for omble chevalier and crozets paired with Alpine herbs. When a westerly blows, switch to Le 1947 at Cheval Blanc (the Alps’ only French 3-star since 2017), reached from Jardin Alpin with a short, sheltered walk. Or take a higher perch at Cap Horn by the altiport, 2,006 meters, where the chop of rotors times plates of line-caught fish and rotisserie. Lunch, people-watch, then ski down mellow blues like Plantrey or Biollay.
From there, the day clicks into place: hotel pick-up in 1850, vehicle on standby for quick hops between the snow front, Jardin Alpin, and Altiport (2–6 minutes, traffic depending). Your driver tracks service times, reroutes if Verdons gets choked, and keeps skis stowed while you dine. With a dedicated driver in Courchevel, the real win is time saved shuttling between starred rooms spread 1–4 km apart. Sip your espresso; the car rolls up; you’re set down by the lift and swept back to the chalet on cue.
