Low tide along the Rance, high on the ramparts: Dinan shows two faces—quiet quayside below, former market town clustered around Saint-Sauveur above. You can still read ducal power in the Saint-Malo Gate (14th century) and the Clock Tower (c.1480), while the steep cobbles of Rue du Jerzual stitch port to plateau. From Dinard it’s a 22 km drive along the D266 skirting the estuary; once there, blond granite, timber framing, and the memory of sail-borne linen and leather trade set the scene.
Your driver is on hand all day: hotel pick-up in Dinard, smooth Mercedes transfer, and flexible stops when you feel like it. Our private chauffeur in Brittany handles parking and timing so you can wander; mornings for walls and basilica, a taste of buckwheat crêpes by the port, then on to Léhon’s Benedictine abbey 2 km away, before looping back via the left bank for views of the 1852 viaduct rising 40 m. Fancy a cider stop? We can add a tasting of a dry AOP Cornouaille.
