Back in 1928, Philips rolled out its first mass-produced radio in Strijp, the industrial “forbidden city” that once housed labs and assembly lines just 2.5 km northwest of Eindhoven Station. The Veem, Klokgebouw and Machinekamer still show their concrete bones, while nearby Strijp‑R hosts Piet Hein Eek’s workshop-store, a pilgrimage for reclaimed-wood design. Add pop‑up galleries, food halls and brewery taps, then switch gears: the Van Abbemuseum, opened in 1936, frames Picasso, Kandinsky, Mondrian and El Lissitzky with crisp, contemporary hanging and smart context.
Your day runs smoothly: a dedicated driver collects you at the hotel in a Mercedes and stays on call between stops. Explore Strijp‑S while the car is handled, then pause for coffee near Stratumseind before a short hop to the museum—about seven minutes from Klokgebouw, traffic lights included. You taste and look; they drive. If you feel like it, detour to Ketelhuisplein or pause for a photo on the Dommel bridge without reworking the whole plan.

Your chauffeur’s tip
On Saturdays, reach Strijp-S before 10:00 to beat the food hall rush, then book the Van Abbemuseum for a 12:00–13:00 slot—west wing galleries tend to be quieter then.
