Back in 1909, Étretat’s cliffs hosted aerial meets where Hubert Latham and Léon Delagrange skimmed the chalk ramparts, a spectacle that drew Monet and the Paris press; the Alabaster Coast was a stage for engines as much as easels. The chalk fronts rise 70–120 m, carved by steep “valleuses,” stitching Étretat to Fécamp and beyond. Yport still lines up pebble cabins, Veules-les-Roses threads France’s shortest river (1.149 km), and Cap Fagnet keeps its WWII bunkers at 110 m. Distances are tight: 12 km from Étretat to Yport, 9 more to Fécamp.
Your day is seamless yet flexible: hotel pickup in Étretat, a Mercedes at your disposal, and you enjoy the views, walks, and tastings while your driver handles the road. Around Étretat, timing follows the tide for the Aiguille and Manneporte viewpoints; then Yport for shingle and fishing huts, Fécamp for the Palais Bénédictine and harbor, and Veules-les-Roses for mills and watercress beds. Expect 20–30 minutes between stops—just enough to crest a valleuse, frame an ochre door, or try a local fish pie.

Your chauffeur’s tip
For arch photos with raking light, aim for a low tide with a coefficient above 70 and a 9:00 start: the Amont path is easier and the cliff outlines pop in images.
