Camogli, Nervi and the eastern shore

Back in 1863, the Genoa–La Spezia railway stopped at Camogli, shifting the town from sail to station and, with cheaper pigments arriving by train, reviving its 18th‑century trompe‑l’oeil facades. Between Santa Maria Assunta and the fishing quay, you can still see nets drying and, just 5 km east in Recco, trace the origins of cheese‑filled focaccia; in Nervi, the Anita Garibaldi promenade skims 2 km of wave‑splashed rock toward a park of museums, eyes level with the Ligurian swell.

Collected at your Genoa hotel, you ride in a late‑model Mercedes with your dedicated driver, covering the 30–35 minutes to Camogli via the Aurelia or A12, traffic depending. You stroll the oratories and climb to Castello della Dragonara before a drop‑off in Nervi by Torre Gropallo, where you follow the cliff path to the Musei di Nervi while the driver handles parking and timing. Snack stops for focaccia and espresso are built in, bags safe on board; if the light turns golden, a quick detour to Boccadasse on the way back is just 15 minutes from the center.
