In 1906, perfumer François Coty formalized dawn-picking contracts with Grasse growers, setting standards that still guide harvests on the hills of Plascassier and Le Plan. Here, May-blooming Rosa centifolia and late-summer Jasminum grandiflorum rule the calendar. Terraced plots around 350 m help drain the soil; oils stay locked in until first light. Between the International Perfume Museum and partner estates supplying houses like Chanel and Dior, you see how one valley shaped the organ of notes for three centuries.
Collected from your hotel in Cannes, Valbonne, or central Grasse, your dedicated driver heads out in a Mercedes to an estate 10–15 minutes away via the D4 or D6185. You pick blooms with a basket while they handle timing and access, then continue 5 km to a workshop demonstrating modern enfleurage, where you watch, smell, and taste a petal syrup. The vehicle remains at your disposal for a quick coffee stop on Place aux Aires before a smooth, unhurried return.
