Just 9.3 km separate gabled Haarlem from salt-sprayed Zandvoort, a brisk 15-minute hop to the North Sea. The town grew on herring in the 1800s, then on motorsport: the track opened in 1948 and lives on as Circuit Zandvoort. Read the coast by its groynes; behind them, the dune belt of Zuid-Kennemerland National Park shields the land. Seals sometimes show at IJmuiden’s mouth. One more local truth: beach pavilions tweak menus with Zeeland oysters in season and crisp North Sea shrimp croquettes.
Your driver collects you at your Haarlem hotel at the set time, Mercedes at the ready, for a half-day you can shape as you go. First stop: Zandvoort-bad for coffee at Ubuntu Beach (or Tijn Akersloot), then a free stroll toward Bloemendaal aan Zee while the car repositions. Walk a dune trail toward Kraansvlak and the Highland cattle area; he handles the driving and the waiting. We loop back via Barnaart Boulevard, pause for circuit photos when access allows, and finish with hot kibbeling at De Zeerover. With Amani Limousines in and around Haarlem, flexibility buys you time—and sea views.
