In 1530, the ducal castle at Celle was reshaped into a Renaissance residence, a transformation still legible in its white-rendered façades and Court Cremer’s painted chapel; two centuries later, the town’s half-timbered grid framed court life that reached as far as London. Forty kilometers north, the Lüneburg Heath preserves Heidschnucke sheep folds and Bronze Age graves near Oldendorf/Luhe, linking timber towns to the ancient salt routes from Lüneburg.
Collected from your Hanover hotel in a Mercedes, you keep the vehicle at your disposal all day. We stroll the lanes by the Stechbahn and the ducal castle at Celle, then a 45-minute drive carries us into the heath, with short walks between Wilsede and the Totengrund while your driver handles the transfers. Later comes the Cistercian Wienhausen Abbey with its Gothic tapestries, before an easy run back to Hanover as your private chauffeur manages timing, parking, and any bookings while you sample heath-honey cake.
