Follow the D941 across the granite uplands of the Limousin and you reach Oradour-sur-Glane exactly 25 km northwest of Limoges, between the Vienne valley and the first rises of the Monts de Blond. The martyred village, frozen since 10 June 1944, still shows its rural grid: the tramway rails, the shells of cars, workshops, the shattered church. Opened in 1999, the Memorial Centre sets out archives, seized objects and testimonies, and the necropolis records the 643 names. You leave with dates, places and context, not just an impression.
Your driver meets you at your Limoges hotel for a half-day outing: Mercedes on standby, dedicated driver, flexible timing. On arrival, your private chauffeur in Limoges handles drop-off by the Memorial Centre, then waits while you visit the museum (60–90 min) and walk the ruins (about 1 hour). Add a short stop at the Glane viewpoint or detour via the necropolis before returning on the D9 through Saint-Junien. You observe and reflect; they take care of the road.
