In 1908, Kaiser Wilhelm II ordered Avenue Foch to be laid out to link the new imperial station to Metz’s expanding districts; that grid, still obvious today, gives the city its Germanic profile around Place de la Comédie and the honey-colored Jaumont stone. The cathedral holds 6,500 m² of stained glass, including a Chagall oculus installed in 1963. Gothic light, Wilhelmine planning, then a jolt forward: the fiberglass shingle roof of Centre Pompidou-Metz, 1.3 km from the cathedral, by Shigeru Ban, opened in 2010.
We collect you at your hotel in a Mercedes and stay on standby the whole time. Your driver times the drop-off 200 meters from the south portals, waits while you wander, then loops through the Imperial Quarter. With an Amani Limousines private chauffeur in Metz, compare a Roger Bissière panel to the nave, taste a slice of mirabelle tart on Place Saint-Jacques, and leave the traffic to us. Finally, we glide to the Centre Pompidou-Metz for a timed entry, then return wherever you wish, city center or TGV station in around 10 minutes.

Your chauffeur’s tip
Book a 10:45–11:15 entry slot at Centre Pompidou-Metz; the softer overhead light in the Grande Nef flatters textiles and works on paper.
