First lit in 1891, Armenistis lighthouse stands about 184 meters above the Meltemi-swept headland, surveying the strait toward Tinos just 6 km away and the channel to Andros beyond. From this northwest tip, you spot Panormos Bay below—old salt pans still traceable—and, in the keeper’s house, the original Sautter mechanism survives. Late-season light carves the ridgelines of Fokos and Agios Sostis; it’s easy to see why sailors once hunted for this beacon, cap after cap.
As evening begins, your driver collects you at your Mykonos hotel with the car kept at your disposal for a flexible loop: about 20 minutes to the lighthouse via Faros Armenistis, a cliffside photo stop, then down to Panormos for a waterfront drink while your driver handles the road and parking. On the way back, he climbs above Chora to catch golden hour over Little Venice and the Kato Mili windmills—unrushed views, no clock-watching.

Your chauffeur’s tip
Aim for late September to mid-October when the Meltemi eases and horizons sharpen; on site, stand left of the footpath to align the sun with Tinos about 15 minutes before the published sunset time.
