Rising 105 meters above the river, Dinant’s citadel charts eight centuries of defenses, from the Counts of Namur to the 1818 rebuild. Below, the bulbous-towered Collegiate Church presses against sheer limestone, a stone’s throw from Adolphe Sax’s birthplace and the quays where boats cast off. From Namur, the N92 hugs the Meuse for 30 km: Freyr’s cliffs, terraced orchards, the Anseremme lock. A short, layered journey that shows how the valley carved its way through the Condroz plateau.
We pick you up at your hotel in Namur and your Mercedes with driver stays at your disposal—stop for a Dave overlook, a snapshot by Pont Charles-de-Gaulle, or a pause at the Sax house while we handle traffic and parking. If you like, we pre-book a 1-hour cruise and a riverside table in Anseremme. Timing stays flexible, with optional detours to the Annevoie Gardens (8 km) or a coffee facing the Freyr crags on the way back.
