Following the A10 west of Riga, Jūrmala stretches exactly 24.5 km from the capital along a 32 km ribbon of pale sand between pine forest and the Gulf of Riga; flat terrain, low dunes topping out around 6–7 m, and shallow water that warms quickly in summer. Timber villas mix late Art Nouveau and National Romantic styles in Majori and Dzintari, while Jomas iela lines up cafés. Aim up the 36 m Dzintari Tower for a coastal panorama, spot the Lāčplēsis sculpture near the beach, and note the 1936 Ķemeri sanatorium, once famed for sulfur springs.
From there, we drive, you enjoy. Hotel pickup, a Mercedes at disposal, and an unhurried pace: a stroll on Majori Beach, a wander down Jomas Street, coffee by the boardwalk, then a seaside fish lunch at Lighthouse or 36. Line Grill if skies are kind. On request, your dedicated driver from Riga adds the detour to Ķemeri National Park: the Great Ķemeri Bog Boardwalk (short 1.4 km or full 3.4 km loop) and a lookout over peat pools before an easy ride back.
