From Luxembourg City it’s a 47 km run via the N7 and N10, tracing the Our River past terraced meadows and forested slopes at 320–400 m. Vianden Castle, rebuilt by the Counts of Vianden and painstakingly restored in the 20th century, strings together Romanesque and Gothic rooms over the fortified town. There’s more than stone: the former Stoltz organ works, the Victor Hugo House on the right bank, and the chairlift first opened in 1954 that glides up to the ridge for wide valley views.
Collected from your hotel in Luxembourg or Clervaux, your dedicated driver sets the pace: drop-off at the fortress before crowds, standby during your visit, then a short hop to the chairlift for the ridge-top lookout. You linger over a glass of Moselle Riesling at lunch in the old town while your driver handles the car, timings, and any tickets. The afternoon stays flexible—perhaps Bivels for the dam panorama, a detour to Hockelsturm chapel—before an unhurried return with no parking to hunt down.
