Back in 1969, Givskud launched as “Løveparken,” a drive-through lion reserve—the first of its kind in Denmark. Just 22 km from Billund, you still roll slowly past giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest on marked tracks before switching to pedestrian paths to see western lowland gorillas and tapirs. The park runs EEP breeding programs, so in spring you might catch newborns near the viewing areas. The main gate sits off road 425; from LEGO House it’s typically a 25‑minute run via Grindstedvej outside peak summer traffic.
From there it’s easy: your dedicated driver collects you at your Billund hotel—Lalandia, Zleep, or the LEGOLAND Hotel—in a comfortable Mercedes, handles parking and timing, and you simply enjoy the lookouts. Start with the car safari loop and in‑car commentary, step out to the Lemur Island and Gorilla Forest, then coffee at the Safari Shop before a final pass by the Bactrian camels. The schedule bends to family pace, and if the weather shifts, we tweak the route and return time.

Aim for the 09:00 opening on May–June weekends: lions are more active in the cool, and entry queues are minimal before 09:30.
