Peleș and Bran castles

Dawn hangs low over the Prahova Valley as the E‑Class hums along DN1; it’s about 120 km from Bucharest to Sinaia, and then the turrets of Peleș slice into the Bucegi treeline. Built for King Carol I between 1873 and 1914, the residence showcases Saxon woodwork, some 1,600 stained-glass panels, and an arms hall lined with Swiss halberds. Farther west, Bran’s crenelated keep still watches the old customs pass from the 13th–14th centuries. Beyond the Dracula lore, the estate’s ethnographic displays speak plainly about mountain village life.
