First, Cliff Walk and Lake Bachalpsee

Follow Route 6 via Interlaken for 74 km from Bern to Grindelwald, with the North Face of the Eiger looming and the Lütschine meadows sliding past the windows. From the village, the Grindelwald–First gondola rises to 2,168 m, placing the Schreckhorn and Wetterhorn on the skyline. The steel Cliff Walk clings to the rock before stepping into thin air; a clearly marked path then winds an hour to Lake Bachalpsee at 2,265 m, whose mirror often catches the Schreckhorn’s pyramid on clear days. In summer, the descent by scooter or Mountain Cart to Bort adds a playful finish.

From there, everything runs smoothly: hotel pick-up in Grindelwald, a dedicated Mercedes car and driver at your pace, while you focus on views and visits. Drop-off is right at the gondola base, with tickets pre-arranged on request; your driver waits at Bort for the downhill crowd, gathers helmets and daypacks, then whisks you to a café on Dorfstrasse or the Berghaus Bort terrace as you please. Timing stays flexible, photo stops are easy, and an alternate route via Grosse Scheidegg is on the table if weather shifts.
