Six-point-two kilometers northeast of Kitzbühel via the L202 and the Kitzbüheler Horn toll road, the climb winds up in about 25 minutes to the Alpenhaus (1,670 m), gateway to the Alpine Flower Garden at 1,880 m and paths toward the summit hut. Expect a precise skyline: the Wilder Kaiser to the north, Großer Rettenstein to the east, and, on very clear days, the Großglockner. The descent sets you up for the Schwarzsee, 3.8 km west of the Hahnenkamm—shallow, humic-rich waters that warm quickly and classic timber bathing jetties.
Your half-day runs smoothly: hotel pick-up in Kitzbühel, a Mercedes at your disposal, tolls handled, timing flexible. We pause where it counts—Trattalm viewpoints, a swift wander through cultivated edelweiss and gentians, photos facing the Kaiser—while your driver handles the road.
