Back in 1964, the Saulire gondola stitched Méribel to Courchevel and cemented La Chaudanne (1,450 m) as the valley’s switchboard. From this hub, two high-altitude lunches set very different moods: La Folie Douce above 2,000 m near Saulire with live DJs and panoramic decks, and Le Clos Bernard tucked in the Altiport forest, five minutes’ ski from Blanchot. Think crozet gratin and Savoie cheeses on one side, a hot-stone ribeye by a wood stove on the other, plus views to Dent de Burgin or the hush of larch and spruce.
Your driver collects you at the hotel, luggage dry and boots stowed in a roomy Mercedes, then drops you at La Chaudanne in 8–15 minutes depending on where you’re staying (Mottaret, Mussillon, Morel). While you ski or stroll the Altiport pedestrian path to the restaurant, they handle timing and reservations, standing by for pickup. The return is synced: skiers meet at La Chaudanne, walkers at Doron bus stop or the Altiport if needed. In Méribel with a dedicated chauffeur, you linger over lunch while the car waits warm.
