From city surf to inland plateaus, the blue fades and vines take over. Some 65 km west of Valencia, the Utiel–Requena high plain (600–900 m) stretches out bobal parcels, a native grape cited in local records as early as 1515. You’ll drop beneath Requena’s medieval houses to see clay tinajas, then weigh concrete versus amphora élevage at Chozas Carrascal, Mustiguillo, or Hispano+Suizas. The swing from cool underground cellars to wind‑brushed rows in the afternoon tells a story of big day–night shifts and reds built to age.
Morning pickup at your hotel sets an easy rhythm: a Mercedes on standby, flexible pauses, driving and parking handled quietly. With our private chauffeur in Valencia, tastings and tours flow while you ride the A‑3: 50 minutes to Requena, another 15 to Caudete de las Fuentes estates. Vineyard lunch if weather cooperates, a quick doze on the transfer, then a final flight of Utiel bubbles. Back in town around 6 pm, sunset warming the Eixample roofs.
