At 8:15, a faint Atlantic mist hangs over Chiberta’s 7th as surf thumps the shore barely ten minutes away. Long before boardshorts, Biarritz shaped its game: Le Phare, laid out in 1888 by Tom Dunn, sharpened swings under steady westerlies and once drew royals and top amateurs. Arcangues, set over the old d’Arcangues estate, rolls past half-timbered walls with the first Pyrenean ridges on the horizon. Three courses, three rhythms, all within about 12 km.
The day runs smoothly end to end: hotel pick-up in a Mercedes, bags loaded, tee times locked, and a vehicle on standby between rounds. Your dedicated driver handles the hops — 7 minutes to Chiberta, 12 to Le Phare, 20 to Arcangues via Arbonne — while you snag a muxu at Miremont or check in with the starter. Fancy a break? Sit down at Arcangues for axoa laced with Espelette pepper before an afternoon nine, or swing by Le Phare’s practice to dial in your short game on siliceous sand.

Your chauffeur’s tip
Book Le Phare after 2 pm on westerly wind days: greens roll quicker in the morning, and the course plays about a club longer later. Bring €2 for range balls (tokens at the pro shop).
