By 1402, the Royal Palace of Olite had taken on its whimsical Gothic silhouette: crenellated towers, hanging gardens, and open-air walkways built for Navarrese kings. Just 26 miles from Pamplona, the medieval grid still frames sandstone cellars, while surrounding plots at 1,300–1,600 feet ripen Garnacha on pebbly clays. Expect saline rosados, Tempranillo with more lift than in Rioja, and a monastic wine heritage dating back to the 12th century around Ujué and Tafalla.
All day, your driver is at your disposal: hotel pick-up in Pamplona, a comfortable Mercedes, and an easy pace. Morning in Olite, then two Navarra estates while he handles the road and scheduling—you taste and tour, he waits. With our private chauffeur in Pamplona, plan roughly 90 minutes for the palace and Atalaya tower, then head to a grower in San Martín de Unx and another near Corella, with a vintner’s lunch booked ahead.

To dodge tour buses, enter Olite’s palace right at opening (10 am) and head straight up the Atalaya: the low morning light reveals original stonework and vineyard views toward Ujué.
