Cold seaweed drifts on the air while low light skims glacial grooves across the Lysefjord’s granite walls. From Jørpeland to Oanes the road links into National Route 13, then climbs the Ryfylkevegen past spiral tunnels, kettle lakes, and farmsteads perched on old moraines. At the very end lies Lysebotn with its 27 switchbacks carved in 1984; high above, Kjerag rises 984 m and the Kjeragbolten lures seasoned hikers. Puffins keep offshore in May–June, but here you watch for golden eagles and hear the rock crackle on the windswept plateau.
Collected at your Stavanger hotel, you settle in while your private chauffeur handles the day in a Mercedes. Plans stay flexible: take the Lauvvik–Oanes ferry if timings align, sip coffee by Lake Sirdalsvatnet, pause at Øygardsstølen viewpoint, then hike to the boulder at your pace (6–10 km round trip, 2 h 30 to 5 h). Taste local brunost, step into Lysebotn’s small church if open, and let the driving, waiting, and any ferry bookings run in the background.
