The flaky slate known as licorella forces low yields and concentrates ripeness, giving that smoky, ferrous edge. From Tarragona it’s roughly 45 km—about 55 minutes—to Gratallops, skirting Porrera and passing legendary slopes like Finca Dofí and Les Terrasses. Dry‑stone walls, tiny pergolas, semi‑buried cellars: the landscape makes the history legible at every bend.
