By 8:40 a.m., low winter sun skims Bellevarde’s flanks and the snow creaks underfoot by the stands. Bibs drop, cowbells answer, and the first GS racers attack this FIS face, first skied in 1955 and later reworked by Killy and Oreiller. Between runs, you can grab a coffee by the Olympique cable car, then watch course workers adjust the set near the compression on the steep pitch. The resort hums; Tignes sits barely 6 km away, and a valley breeze can alter the line choices up near 2,807 m.
From there, logistics click into place with your dedicated driver in Val d’Isère: hotel pick-up in La Daille or Le Fornet, Mercedes on standby, and timing aligned to the FIS schedule. They navigate road closures, drop you within 150 m of the stands, wait through both runs, then roll the moment organizers release traffic. While you ride, a lunch at Le Signal (2,300 m) is booked, a Chevallot blueberry tart is secured, or a stroll through the center fills the gap before heading back to the chalet—even if the flower ceremony runs long.

Arrive 45 minutes before the first bib to claim a spot on the outside of the steep pitch (clear view into the compression), and bring slim overshoes—the spectator zone stays in shade until around 11 a.m. in December.
